We are looking for a Product Designer who can help us take the lifesaving potential of our technology to the next level. As our first full-time Product Designer, you’ll have the opportunity to reimagine our core product and play a leading role in the development of a growing array of exciting new product offerings. We’re looking for someone who can not only dream up great ideas, but can also implement them alongside our engineers - meaning rapid prototyping abilities are important.
Our top design priorities include:
- conducting user research in multiple countries;
- improving the design and functionality of our existing products;
- ensuring that new tools meet a high standard of design and usability;
- leveraging human-centered design principles and your imagination to drive user adoption and retention; and
- setting up the design and product infrastructure required to rapidly develop new features.
This role is based in San Francisco, but will require regular international travel to meet face-to-face with our users across the world (anticipated ~25% travel).

Responsibilities:
- Conduct user research in the countries where we work;
- Work with the product team to translate your findings into an elegant and compelling product vision;
- Design elegant and effective user flows that cater to a diverse and expanding range of users from Ministers of Health to front-line healthcare workers and everyone in between;
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to prototype new products, features and interactions;
- Rapidly iterate on your designs with the engineering and product teams; and
- Take ownership for catalyzing user growth and increasing user retention.
Qualifications:
- Comfort with user-centric design, prototyping, research and iteration
- Experience with end-to-end product design and shipping products
- Ability to generate many ideas and willingness to abandon them
- Basic quantitative fluency
- Expertise with at least one prototyping tool
Nice to Haves:
- Demonstrated interest in social impact and designing for the developing world
- Experience working on software for governments or international aid organizations
- JS/ES6/React/CSS experience
- General coding ability demonstrated through Github, MOOC, bootcamp or degree
- Online portfolio showcasing visual design and process
