Senior Lead, Commercial Business Development
Zenysis is looking for a highly-motivated, entrepreneurial candidate to serve as its first Senior Lead for Commercial Business Development. You will be responsible for opening a new business unit within Zenysis focused on commercial markets in the pharmaceutical, private healthcare, health insurance, supply chain and logistics industries.
As our Senior Lead for Commercial Business Development you will have autonomy to build new networks that help advance our mission, represent the company at external events and with high-level decision-makers, and shape our business development strategy with corporate clients.
On a given day, you might demonstrate our software to line managers or C-suite executives at a major multinational, work with your colleagues to write a commercial proposal, and negotiate projects and budgets with prospective clients. In addition, you will work with our Communications Team to support the development of strategic communications and information products that tell our story to the world. Strong writing and proposal development skills are essential.
You will be responsible for growing this important new business unit and building a team to grow our commercial business around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Working as a thought partner with the CEO and Chief of Staff, develop and execute a business development strategy that will grow our engagement and business with private sector partners aligned with our mission.
- Manage and maintain relationships with our clients -- from analysts to CEOs.
- Identify, write, and manage proposals and proposal responses for corporate clients.
- Represent Zenysis at domestic and international industry events and conferences.
- Support other Business Development and Communications Team members as needed, including with proposal responses and developing effective information products that communicate our unique value proposition to industry.
- Domestic and international travel.
Profile:
You must have the resilience to thrive in uncertain settings, strong communication skills that create clarity and consensus whether there are none , an ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and have a strong commitment to personal development.
Qualifications:
- You are, or are willing to be, based in New York, San Francisco, Paris, or London.
- 5+ years in business development/enterprise sales experience in software or any of the following strategic industries: pharma, private healthcare, health insurance, supply chain and logistics.
- You are a strong writer and have proposal management and response experience (we may request writing samples for select candidates).
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- You have a genuine love of technology demonstrated through your academic background, hands-on experience, or adjacent work in design, business, operations, policy, product, or project management.
- You thrive in ambiguity and aren’t afraid of not knowing – you understand how to take one step at a time to work through complex, multi-faceted problems.
- You have a strong client focus and client-centric work ethic.
