Assistant Media Planner

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

20% - Collaborating with Media Team for strategy and plan development
  • Learns and employs planning, evaluation and buying tools (i.e. MRI, Comscore, Crimson Hexagon) for application/analysis into competitive landscape, target digital consumption support, plan development and reporting
  • Assists in creating media specific documents such as RFPs, media plans, objectives and strategies decks, and other related functions
  • Begins to show critical thinking and analysis to draw conclusions and construe actionable implications
  • Support team in media plan development stage to collect RFP responses from partners/ sites, assist in analyzing proposals and partner negotiations
  • Monitor trends, tools, opportunities and applications in paid social media environments, and appropriately apply that knowledge
  • Compile updates on partner capabilities and offerings through vendor contact 
  • Participates in team brainstorms to kick off plan and consideration set development
 
25% - Campaign execution
  • Assists with trafficking plan assets such as creative and required tracking tags
  • Help to set up 3rd party ad server/tracker system: follows through to ensure sites are enabled, functioning properly and all materials are received from creative agency
  • Supports in executing Quality Assurance (QA) of tracking functionality and creative units to identify and solve any issues
  • Creates campaign post launch information such as screenshots, links and placement information to demonstrate proof of placement for clients
 
30% - Campaign management
  • Learns about and begin to enter plans in billing system (Advantage), tracks insertion orders, creative specifications development, and handles Traffic sheets/creative assignment as necessary
  • Helps with generating insertion orders within internal systems tool to reserve advertising space and is responsible for accuracy of plan details and confirmation of delivery ensuring proper protocol
  • Maintain plan records, insertion orders, contact lists, spec documents etc.
  • Assist with creating creative allocation sheet and learns about the process with including Account, Production, and Analytics
  • Assists in management day-to-day communication with key partners: Vendors, Partner Agencies and media and social clients
 
25% - Reporting on campaign performance
  • Assists in building campaign performance reporting inclusive of aggregating information from third party servers and site direct reporting
  • Support in evaluating campaign effectiveness via reporting (predetermined cadences) and post campaign analysis
  • Helps with monitoring and reporting weekly performance, providing an active voice communicating optimization opportunities and challenges, implementing changes in the plan 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) 
  • Experience with Media (ideally an internship)
  • Knowledge of Digital Planning & Buying
  • Knowledge of DART/Doubleclick/Marin/Kenshoo a plus
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics/Omniture a plus
  • Knowledge of Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/DSP/Affiliate platforms a plus
  • Self-starter, able to work with a high level of independence
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills (written/verbal)
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
