A Day in the Life as a Graphics Software Engineer
As a Graphics Software Engineer, you are responsible for the design and development of production-grade, real-time 3D graphics engines for desktop and mobile platforms.
Qualifications for a Graphics Software Engineer
- Meaningful experience with low-level 3D computer graphics technologies and APIs (such as DirectX, Vulkan, or OpenGL) is a must. If you want your resume to standout, this is what you should emphasize!
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field OR equivalent experience
- 5+ years of relevant professional computer science experience
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns
- Excellent C++ development skills
- Very strong analysis and problem-solving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Fast learner with attention to both the overall concept and the details
Experience with software development on a wide variety of platforms (especially Windows and Linux), writing and debugging in C# or Objective C, and CAD/CAM or other engineering software development is a significant plus.
