Title: Application Support Specialist
Reports to: Director of IT
Duties & Primary Responsibilities: The Application Support Specialist is the primary point of contact for internal and external Young Supply Company application and systems users. They provide technical and functional support in the areas of: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems administration, problem resolution, support, processing mapping, system testing and development, security access, user access, and training. Additionally, they will assist with the design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance of data processing solutions to enhance the ERP systems.
The Application Support Specialist will also lead in catalog content creation and maintenance, and compile daily, weekly, and monthly system reports.
All Young Supply Company employees are required to comply with Federal, State, and Company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Work Environment: This position operates in a processional office environment. Regular and predictable attendance is a job requirement. Occasional travel may be required.
Essential Roles & Functions:
- Thoroughly understands the ERP subsystem in order to assign appropriate system access to users at different levels across the organization:
- Troubleshoots application software and database problems on a timely basis:
- Works as a system analyst with key personnel to help define user needs and develop data processing solutions;
- Develops reports collecting information from department database resources for the various computer systems;
- Identifying and resolving technical issues;
- Assisting with systems integrations;
- Works with end-users on all functional modules to document business needs/requirements for upgrades and enhancements;
- Develops and presents training materials for end users;
- Ensure the integrity and security of information and access to support company reporting and internal control standards;
- Maintains confidentiality, protecting company, personal, and private information;
- Preforms all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Three years of experience in an information technology environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of systems analysis and information technology principles
- Experience with reporting and analytic applications from the Technical support perspective (application support, object definitions, end-user support, etc.)
- Customer service minded and solutions oriented
- Strong verbal and presentation skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work with a wide variety of problems and personalities, while continuing to promote a professional and pleasant demeanor
- Highly organized
- Detail oriented
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to exercise substantial judgment and work with limited supervision
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or related field
- Five years of experience in an information technology environment
- Prior experience with ERP systems, specifically Infor
- Understanding of SQL databases, scripting, and automation of tasks
