TruckWings are managed and controlled through CarbonConnect, an in-house built, IoT based connectivity platform that automates the wing operation and measures the impact on fuel efficiency.

About the Role
We are currently seeking a versatile Embedded Software Engineer (Vehicle Integration) with 4+ years of coding experience to assist in the expansion and ongoing maintenance of the CarbonConnect platform.

In this role, you will:
  • Develop and maintain firmware (C++) for connecting to the truck CAN bus, integrate sensors and controls, and communicate that data to the cloud
  • Develop and execute software verification plans, test procedures and test environments, ensuring software system requirements are met
  • Work in conjunction with other hardware development engineers to bring new hardware to life

About the Team
By joining the XStream Trucking engineering team, you will:
  • Join a small team in expanding our platform for data collection and analysis for the trucking industry
  • Build both rapid MVP prototyping and production code
  • Building an exciting, new SaaS product on the CarbonConnect platform

Desired Skills   
  • 4+ years work experience in Embedded Software Development (specifically C++)
  • Microcontroller programming (ie. STM32) including bootloader, behavior loops, and state-machine logic
  • Solid grasp of communication protocols such as GPIO, UART, I2C and others
  • Experience with integrating sensors such as GPS, accelerometers, and others
  • Experience with connected hardware and interfacing with cloud architectures
  • Experience with testing and validating production code
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with strong software background

  • Other programming language skills (python, perl, sql, javascript, etc)
