Xpress Wellness is a growing company with 10 locations statewide. This position is to serve in all of these clinics on a scheduled basis. Traveling will be mandatory, but you will receive mileage reimbursement. You will also receive hotel stay (if applicable), but this is rare. This position will mainly serve the west region of the state including Chickasha, Lawton, Weatherford, Elk City and Woodward, but opportunities will arise to fill in at our other locations. This position will include being scheduled in advance just as any full-time position would be. Overall Responsibility
Assists providers in the examination and treatment of patients following established standards and practices, as directed by the physician leader.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Greets patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner.
- Triage patient to include recording all vitals, patient medical history, and recording accurately into the patients chart (EMR).
- Prepare new and existing patient’s charts with the appropriate forms, insuring copies are dated and initiated and placed in the patient’s file. Retrieves required signatures on forms.
- Collects, verifies participation and copies patient insurance information.
- Maintains the medical records according to policy, copy and transfer records (when indicated).
- Maintains clean and orderly office and waiting area.
- Orders supplies for the office within budgetary guidelines.
- Follow protocols which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing care.
- Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent and non-urgent presentation.
- Select, order and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.
- Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnoses included.
- Write orders on physician order sheet for tests, procedures and the implementation and management of therapies in accordance with medical nursing protocols.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician.
- Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gases, radiology, EKG, etc. in collaboration with supervising physician.
- Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes.
- Complete all lab test as ordered by the provider on staff including positioning of Xray.
- Assist with patient registration, clinic patient call backs, and other duties as needed.
- Must maintain regular and sustained attendance.
Skills and Attributes
- Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology.
- Ability to work all shifts including, day, night, and weekend hours as needed.
- Ability to escort or transport patient by wheelchair or stretcher when appropriate.
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with electronic medical records.
- Types 25 words per minute with 96% accuracy.
- Detail oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduate of accredited program.
- Current LPN license in the State of Oklahoma required.
- BLS required.
- Experience preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills required. Typing and basic computer skills preferred. Ability to organize/prioritize work, the ability to communicate effectively with patients and medical staff.
