Environmental laboratory in Midland is looking for an entry-level analytical Chemist. 24 hours of Chemistry credits preferable.
- Test soil and water according to EPA, ASTM and Standard Methods.
- Document measurements of samples and Quality Control in logbooks
- Data entry into the laboratory’s LIMS database.
- Calibrate meters, thermometers and volumetric pipets.
- Maintain stock of laboratory chemicals and consumables.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to regulation and testing requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains and improves quality results by developing and completing quality assurance tests; following and enforcing standards; studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes.
- Ensures operation of analytical equipment by calibrating equipment; completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Keeps chemical supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
