The Opportunity
As Director of Product Marketing, you'll be a key player in driving WorkSpan’s category leadership and conveying our insights to build on that leadership. You'll own positioning and driving preference for our platform by delivering stellar materials and insights to our sales, customer success, internal teams, customers, prospects, and influencers.
You’ll use your ability to craft a strong, engaging message to tell inspiring stories about the mission WorkSpan is on to change the way companies engage ecosystem partners and to elevate the strategic partnering profession along the way. WorkSpan has created the new category of Ecosystem Cloud, so an ideal candidate will have experience in category definition and growth.
You'll gain deep insights by engaging with customers directly to help them understand the value of the platform and learning directly from them how we can provide the highest value. You'll be an expert for and enable the sales team to be growth advisors to customers and incredibly effective at communicating value. This position is based in our Foster City HQ office.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, and Leadership to develop compelling product messaging and positioning that demonstrates WorkSpan’s category leadership.- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape and go to market strategies in target markets and target audiences. This is a complex buying cycle including partners, multiple decision-makers and changing buying dynamics.
- Deliver sales tools that the sales team loves and uses every day. These could include sales decks, datasheets, videos, white papers, e-books, case studies, blogs, and product demos
- Understanding buyers' alternatives, how those will unfold, and how to address objections
- Participate in and drive launches with our go-to-market ecosystem.
- Drive seller enablement programs related to our offerings, our market dynamics and account and persona descriptions.
- Conduct win-loss analysis with the sales organization and recommend shifts in strategy based on that direct feedback.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in software product marketing for a cloud-based enterprise software company, preferably with a network-based business model
- 3+ years of hands-on product marketing experience at the director level
- You have led the charge in creating a compelling story around your product that is exciting and enticing to your customers.
- Writing and communication is key to success in this role, so hands-on experience in creating content is required and a body of work to evaluate would be welcome.
- Strong leadership skills, the ability to plan, execute, measure, learn, and correct approach based on outcomes.
- Experience in growth-stage companies.
- Familiarity with product marketing frameworks in the tech space.
- Experience marketing a service or product with a complex buying cycle including multiple influencers and decision-makers.
- Experience driving and working with cross-functional teams to deliver on goals; an ability to work with all levels of the business easily and able to influence without direct authority
- A self-motivated individual with attention to detail and focus on the quality of results.
- Familiarity with strategic alliances or partner management personas is a plus
