Wolf Den Associates is seeking experienced Capture and Proposal Leads. The Capture and Proposal Lead role requires a unique professional with a skill set that spans creative, sales, technical, and managerial disciplines.
Capture and Proposal Leads at Wolf Den need to possess the following qualities:
-The gravitas to lead a team, or possibly teams, through an evolving capture process that changes course regularly;
-The instincts necessary to provide direction to sometimes inexperienced proposal staff;
-The proven ability to write, review, direct, and craft proposal sections regardless of the discipline, technology, or requirements of those sections;
-Expertise in the Federal procurement process, including the FAR, contracting vehicles, and the nuances of Federal contracting;
-Passion for producing outcomes, not just adherence to a process;
-The fortitude to successfully recover from reviewer feedback in a limited timeframe;
-The sense of urgency and fastidious approach required to succeed in a demanding environment where customers expect high-quality, winning proposals; and
-The desire to be part of a pure meritocracy that works hard, but also plays hard – we take our work seriously, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously
There is not an explicit job description because the role is completely fluid and involves different approaches, activities, and objectives depending on the client, effort, or team. Likewise, we do not have specific educational or experiential requirements, primarily because we have found that industry certifications, years of experience, and adherence to standards set by other companies are not necessarily indicators of success. We will, however, expect demonstrable aptitude from any candidate. These demonstrations could take the form of a discussion on the FAR, writing samples, or a whiteboard session on the basics of capture strategy. It also might mean a capture session run by the candidate, in which he or she is given a case study and asked to guide a discussion around teaming, win themes, staffing, price-to-win, or competitive analysis. We do it differently every time, mainly because it is fun, but also because the ideal candidate is nimble, flexible, responsive, and able to adapt under fire in real time.
