Continuous Improvement Technician, $14/hr, 1st Shift, Grand Rapids, MI
A local Grand Rapids global leader in the production of industrial manufacturing machinery is actively seeking a Continuous Improvement Technician to work 1st shift. This role will be responsible for supporting production to improve efficiency The Continuous Improvement Technician will be working as a team member to help improve the optimization of the assembly production of leading woodworking machinery. Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
-Optimization of the production process according to Lean Production
-Follow a standard problem-solving model (i.e. DMAIC) to improve any problems or issues identified.
-Identify and implement process improvements throughout all aspects of the assembly area that will increase production throughout and decrease downtime.
-Perform data analysis as necessary
-Improvement of material flow and elimination of unnecessary inventory
-Analysis of assembly times and optimization to improve production in each cycle of production
-Execute the organization and ergonomics of assembly workstations.
-Maintain and actively contribute to the cleanliness and safety levels of the workstation
-Following established cycle, department, and corporate guidelines and processes
-Collaborate with all departments within the organization
-Implement Continues Improvements Projects

Functions and Requirements:
-Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.
-Lean Manufacturing experience preferred
-Strong PC / Computer skills
-Microsoft Office i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
-Excellent communicator, in verbal and written forms
-Self-starter, and strong ability to recognize links between roles and departments
-Consummate team player
