Media Supervisor - TV/Broadcast

Roles and Responsibilities

For this role, we are seeking a Media Supervisor with strong TV expertise. The ideal candidate has a proficiency in TV strategy and planning, has had previous experience managing large, complex TV plans, can put together a strong POV on the role of TV among other media channels and how it can be used as a device in driving overall client business goals. At Wieden+Kennedy the Media Supervisor is a key player within both the media team and the assigned cross functional brand account group(s). The MS is primarily responsible for the development of comms strategies, integrated media planning/buying, and campaign stewardship.
 
Potential duties reflect the full scope of comms/media planning/buying across all media channels including:
  • Develop GTM media strategies and plans that drive business results for our clients, 
  • Pursue innovative communication opportunities to inform and amplify the creative ideas
  • Fluent across all major media – including general attributes, potential roles played in integrated plans, creative parameters/opportunities, audience make-up, pricing characteristics, and how they are bought and stewarded
  • Establish and maintain a deep understanding of brands’ business, its consumers, and competitors
  • Work within full integrated team to shape strategy, creative, as well as to manage campaigns
  • Lead MP/AMP teams in creating detailed media plans, buys and measurement, as well as overseeing day to day execution and activities
  • Create impactful client presentations with strong storytelling using language, data and visualizations as warranted
  • Effectively presents/sells media plans to clients and account management
  • Build strong partnerships with media vendors that yield strong activations, pricing and delivers maximum value for our brands
  • Maintain productive relationship with clients to ensure mutual understanding of plans, buys and campaign delivery relative to expectations and goals
  • Works closely with broadcast/OOH buying teams to ensure their full input, involvement and agreement that plans are realistic; ensures buys are executed and delivered as planned
  • Budget management
  • Ultimately responsible for accuracy, timeliness and quality of all media team outputs
  • Mentors junior planning team and supports them in career development
  • Serves as a role model within the department/group

Qualifications, Distinguishing Characteristics and Special Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • 5+ years media experience in a creative advertising agency preferred
  • Creative and innovative thinker
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Effective manager, delegator and leader
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite
  • Prior knowledge of AdViews, Telmar, Donovan a plus but not required
  • A proven track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations
  • Exceptional written, verbal and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of employees, vendors and clients
  • Exceptional initiative and attention to detail 
  • Travel and after hours work required
