Labeling Party Manager

Wigle Whiskey and Threadbare Cider, together, are looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join our operation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  An unreasonable love of craft spirits, cider and Pittsburgh, and the excitement to develop in a growth environment is essential.  We expect this role to require a commitment of approximately 27 hours/week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:

Since starting in 2011, Wigle Whiskey has hosted weekly labeling parties. During these parties, we invite the community to help us label bottles in exchange for cocktails and snacks on us! The Labeling Party Manager will grow to oversee these labeling parties and the many moving pieces and communications necessary to make them successful.  The role requires both organization and people facing skills in equal measure. 

The Labeling Party Manager will be responsible for preparing and running regular labeling parties on Tuesday evenings and Sunday mornings. The responsibilities include:
  • Working directly with the production team to understand upcoming needs and the marketing and design team with respect to packaging standards.
  • Working with design team to ensure appropriate labels are ready for labeling party. 
  • Supervising and working side by side with a labeling team comprised of part time staff members.
  • Posting Weekly labeling parties on the Wigle Website and Facebook page. 
  • Preparing for labeling parties including:
  • Schedule labeling staff to prep bottles as needed prior to the labeling parties.
  • Email labeling staff prior to each party explaining  the labeling party set up, any special instructions for labels and priorities for that session. 
  • Instruct staff regarding set up as they arrive for their shift.  
  • Making labeling volunteers welcome, finding them a place to sit and making sure they are trained and labeling bottles well.
  • Ensuring accurate, consistent, and appealing packaging meeting all quality standards. 
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of labels.
  • Upholding quality standards for all Wigle packaging. 

This role will also be responsible for shipments of spirits to customers. These responsibilities include: 
  • Reviewing online orders from the website. 
  • Communicating with the sales team regarding any sales needing shipment.
  • Packing the shipping boxes and scheduling a pickup or delivering packages to a drop center.

Ideally, the Labeling Party Manger will have the ability to work with Adobe Creative Suite of products, particularly, in-design.
