Head of Sales

WeTravel (www.wetravel.com) is an online payment platform that helps travel companies transition from paper-based and traditional finances, communication and marketing to digital excellence fit for today’s modern travel industry. 
 
Led by Silicon Valley and travel industry veterans we are a Venture Capital backed scale-up bringing together a diverse and highly motivated team. We serve thousands of tour operators on all 5 continents while maintaining the lean approach to business that propelled us to where we are today. 

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Sales to kickstart our new US sales office and grow our sales team from 5 to 200 sales reps in the next two years.

Role Summary

The first responsibility of the Head of Sales is to kickstart our new sales office in the US. This new office is projected to be our global sales HQ. In the first months you will attract, recruit, and train the initial team of sales reps in the new office. We envision this sales office to consist of young, motivated and hungry sales reps with a commission-heavy, uncapped salary. You will work closely with the co-founders and will be supported by the current sales team who are located in other regions. You will have the full trust and support from the co-founders to build the sales team, culture and processes.

Once the initial team of the new office is up and running, you will continue growing the sales team and we expect you to take over leadership of the entire sales organization, thereby managing 4-6 sales directors with approximately 30-40 sales reps in total within the first year.  

The main task of the sales team is to reach out to small-to-medium sized, multi-day tour operators and to convince them to use WeTravel. The sales team conducts outreach via phone/email and delivers product demos. Sales reps also travel to meet larger leads in person. The new sales office coordinates with the remaining team in our San Francisco and Amsterdam offices.

Role Responsibilities

  • Build a sales machine of young, hungry and motivated sales reps
  • Successfully onboard and train new, junior sales team members on our sales and product process
  • Scale, manage and oversee WeTravel’s fast-growing sales team across existing and new market verticals
  • Set team and individual revenue goals; build, track and project revenues and expansion 
  • Oversee full sales life-cycle and execute on marketing, lead generation and our client services efforts 
  • Utilize tools and resources to improve success metrics and sales operational efficiencies

Requirements

  • Experience selling software solutions to SMB companies
  • Ability to motivate and manage a team of hungry, B2B sales professionals
  • Highly organized, target-driven, and self-motivated
  • Track record of setting and delivering sales targets
  • Strong closing skills
  • Previous entrepreneurial experience is an advantage
