About the team

The marketing team is at the heart of growth at Web Summit events. We deliver innovative and creative marketing over multiple platforms, educating and inspiring new and potential Web Summit attendees from across the world. This approach has allowed Web Summit’s events to grow from 400 attendees in 2010, to over 100,000 in 2018.

What you’ll achieve at Web Summit 

  • You’ll gather and analyse data at both account level and campaign level across our marketing channels. You’ll demonstrate initiative in identifying areas requiring marketing operational adaptation or improvement. 
  • You’ll set up and integrate custom analytics reports for each team in the marketing org. 
  • Analyse all of the existing marketing channels, both online and offline, and suggest optimisations per channel to ensure overall marketing success. 
  • You will produce a weekly report on the success (and failure) of every major marketing initiative that the team undertakes, ensuring we drive business value through our goals. You’ll then extract meaningful data-led insights to inform decisions. 
  • You will work on optimisation techniques aligned to customers' goals across advertising platforms, websites, video, social media, email marketing and more. 

Who you are 

  • You’re data-driven with a strong interest in marketing. 
  • You’re comfortable diving into in-depth performance analyses, and capable of distilling your results, generating optimisation recommendations, and presenting your findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You’re comfortable with data visualization, and the creation of dashboards and charts via tools like Tableau, Data studio by Google, Metabase or similar. 
  • You have creative problem-solving, analytical skills, comfortable handling and interpreting data.

Skills and abilities we’re looking for 

  • Skilled user of web/mobile/ecommerce analytics tools and platforms (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar),  for analysis and optimisation goal setting.
  • Strong understanding of how advertising, landing pages and conversion rate optimisation work in concert.
  • Experience optimising high volume entry pages, offer pages and sign-up flows, with a focus on improving conversion at each step to maximize revenue.
  • Experience with digital advertising tools and platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, DoubleClick or similar .
  • Comfort querying databases (using SQL or similar).
  • Experience with data transformation (cleaning large data sets from different sources to unified format) and data integration (combining data from different sources to get a complete view of our marketing efforts).
  • Interest in data visualisation, creation of dashboards and charts via tools like Tableau, Data Studio by Google, Metabase or similar 
  • Assisted or have experience with tracking implementation for websites and apps (directly or through container solution such as Google Tag Manager). 
  • Basic HTML & JavaScript skills and knowledge. Fundamentals of web technologies and web design. Experience with browser debugging tools a plus.
