About the Job:

The Business Analyst at Webcreek is responsible for setting and achieving high standards in all matters related to requirements gathering and client process knowledge. This role gathers, analyzes, documents and validates the needs of all project stakeholders in order to give the development team a robust base on which to build the final product. Some basic job duties include:

**Requirements: Advanced English ONLY & Experience in Oil & Gas Industry

  • Act as the principal conduit through which requirements flow between the client and the development team
  • Collect and disseminate product knowledge from the client to the correct stakeholders in development
  • Interpret client concepts to make clear specifications that will drive the software development team
  • Define functional and quality requirements to allow project managers to be able to design and build the product, and allow testers to verify the product
  • Define and elicit business needs based on project requirements; determining vision and scope with the client
  • Identify the project stakeholders and roles that each person on the team will play in achieving the scope of the project
  • Analyze requirements to make sure they aren’t too vague, ambiguous, or confusing; determine if more detail is required for developers to be able to do their jobs
  • Write up requirements so all stakeholders can have an organizational structure to work from
  • Create analytical models to represent graphical requirements; determine the best way to communicate non-textual requirements
  • Validate and manage the good maintenance of all client requirements by tracking information
  • Facilitate priorities by analyzing the project scope and making sure everyone has the right information to make the right decisions

This role also supports and develops all team members involved in project by recognizing the need for:

  • Eliminating distractions
  • Understanding different points of view; acting as a neutral facilitator between work groups
  • Reading between the lines to make sure all views are vocalized; asking pointed questions to help break down miscommunication; observing subtleties that users may not mention
  • Identifying and clarifying unspoken assumptions; analyzing the difference between “wants” and “needs”
  • Improving communication by understanding different styles of collaboration; recognizing other group members’ limitations based on skills, time zones, workloads, culture etc.

What you need to bring to the table:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent writing skills in English
  • Overall competency with project management tools
  • A good command of application domain knowledge
  • Some coding knowledge
  • A good understanding of the development lifecycle
