Marketing Retention Analyst

Wag! is looking for a Marketing Retention Analyst who will put dogs and their owners first by helping guide Wag! marketing strategy in order to foster high frequency usage through marketing campaigns that our customers enjoy. While helping drive adoption and share of wallet, balancing performance with affinity for the Wag! brand and ensuring great user experience is paramount. When presented with a challenge, our ideal candidate won’t take the easiest route, but come up with a well thought out approach to solve difficult questions.

This role will be responsible for performing end to end funnel research, cohort analysis and insights reporting, developing customer segmentation analysis, and campaign performance analysis across marketing communication channels (email, push, in-app, and sms) across various platforms. This position requires experience with lifecycle and CRM platforms (Braze, Iterable, Leanplum, Marketo, Hubspot, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Salesforce, etc ), consumer-facing properties, and a deep understanding what drives retention and revenue. 

Knowledge and experience with both quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills, data visualization techniques, and insights development and are needed to a wide range of internal and client stakeholders.

Duties:

  • 4+ years business or marketing analytical work experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with direct marketing principles, database marketing, customer contact strategy, and measurement of CRM systems, promotions to incentivize usage, loyalty programs, and referral programs 
  • Experience analyzing products, technologies and platforms with significant user traction
  • Providing ongoing feedback and expert guidance on campaign performance in order to continuously tune and adjust programs to drive greater effectiveness and efficiency. Analysis includes but not limited to: Life-time value, RFM, churn, customer segmentation, lead conversion, customer retention, etc.
  • Assess, audit and implement program tags and tracking to ensure and extend the accuracy, completeness, and usefulness of web and mobile app analytics as related to outgoing customer communications.
  • Analyze and report key performance indicators across channels on email, SMS & push to monitor the impact and success of campaigns as related to company goals.
  • Support Wag’s audience strategy and be responsible for identifying analytical opportunities to drive insight generation.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years business or marketing analytical work experience 
  • Preferred BA/BS in Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics or other technical field or 2+ years of equivalent technical work experience
  • Understand and/or define the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of campaigns and marketing activities and derive relevant metrics, targets, and data collection strategies,. ) 
  • Experience providing analysis and insights for one or more of the following: web and search traffic; paid media spend, email messaging statistics; and social media trends; offline media impact
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including formulas, pivot tables, formatting, variables, etc. along with Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Must have a true aptitude and passion for understanding and translating complex data in a way that is simple and easily comprehensible, especially for non-technical audiences.
  • Proven experience with creating dashboards and reports for multi-channel marketing campaign analytics, preferably with understanding of multi-touch attribution models.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on campaign production schedules, modify activity and notify stakeholders of relevant outcomes, fluctuations and plans.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task and work in a very fast paced environment
  • BS/BA in Statistics, Quantitative methods, Math, Computer Science, or Marketing or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in SQL and/or other programming language (R, Python, SAS, C++, C#, Objective-C, Perl, etc.)
