Job Description
VR Systems is looking for a full time IT Support Technician who will be the primary contact for all IT related technical support requests. You will maintain computer hardware and software and will help end users. You will work with the DevOps Manager providing system administration services and providing maintenance as needed. You will need to maintain knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Microsoft applications, provide local desktop support, and work with external system engineers on third party network projects or issues.
Job Responsibilities
- Build and configure local machines
- Assist users with local system installations, updates, and troubleshooting
- Assist senior level staff with basic server support
- Coordinate IT activities with end users and vendor representatives
- Troubleshoot IT problems with end users for email, file management, network connectivity, firewall, OS, and application support
- Liaison with end users and IT vendors, for any changes, issue management, or updates
- Assist with phone system issues and new phone installations
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT/MIS or related field
- Strong communication and writing ability
- Ability to contribute to producing written procedures and follow written procedures
- Ability to document issues and resolutions
- Independent, resourceful learner
- Self-starter to complete tasks with high-level direction
- Multitasking to handle many short-term and long-term tasks simultaneously
- Ability to build rapport with employees
- Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Strong customer support focus and attitude
- Pass a background check
- Support elections during election hours while elections are being conducted
This position is classified as non-exempt and covered under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The IT Support Technician will be based in our headquarters in Tallahassee, Florida.
