Migration Consultant (Active Secret)

DESCRIPTION
Our Client Professional Services engages in a wide variety of cloud migration and cloud adoption projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the client customer base. Our team is looking for experienced and motivated consultants who possess a unique balance of cloud experience, strong interpersonal, and business acumen to delivere a scalable playbook for large-scale migrations to client leveraging best practices in technical, operations, compliance and project delivery.
 
 The successful candidate must have exceptional problem-solving skills, strong business judgment, a solid technical background, be able to build and improve systems and processes, and have demonstrated experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
 
 Responsibilities and Abilities include:
  • Define and deliver application portfolio assessments and migration plans.
  • Experience leveraging formal project management and development methodologies on enterprise level engagements.
  • Understanding of technology principles and services including infrastructure, business applications, data management, security, application platforms and consumer facing technology.
  • Take Ownership of the entire customer migration journey.
  •  Actively looks for ways to improve process efficiencies and effectiveness.
  •  Ability to apply strategic thinking and demonstrate understanding of requirements to execute.
  •  Ability to make decisions guided by policies, procedures and migration playbook with limited guidance.
  •  Deliver successful migration projects with multiple cross-functional stakeholders internal and external.
  •  Plays an active role in managing project goals and driving teams to achieve customers’ business outcomes by managing issues, risks, decisions, and action items.
  •  Ability to take ownership, work under pressure and meet deadlines on time.
  •  Ability to challenge, recommend and redirect teams as well as manage client expectations during the engagement.
  •  Takes proactive steps to ensure teams meet or exceed customer expectations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  •  5+ or more years of IT implementation experience
  •   Knowledge of networking and access protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory
  •  Migration Project experience within Applications, Data Center, OS, Database, or Servers.
  •   Experience with integration of cloud services with on premise technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP etc.
  •   Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (eg. security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA etc.)
  •  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Information Security or equivalent experience required
  •   This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen with Active Secret Clearance.
  •  Our Consultants work with Federal Government customers locally, regionally and potentially domestically. As such, Consultants must have the ability to travel to client locations to sell and deliver professional services as needed. (50 to 75%)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • AWS Associate or Professional or speciality certification or ability to get certified within three months of hire.
  •  Knowledge of AWS Compute, Storage, Networking, Database, Management tools, Security, Identity and Compliance services
  •  Strong track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environment
  •   Integration of AWS cloud services with on-premise technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP etc.
  •   Experience either building new apps on cloud (cloud native), migrating apps/DB to cloud or re-architecting existing apps to 12 factor / cloud-native / micro-services architecture
  •  Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (eg. security, privacy, SOX, HIPPA etc.)
  •   Experience in software development/delivery of Internet-related business models preferred
  •   Knowledge of the primary AWS services (EC2, ELB, RDS, Route53 & S3)
  •  Strong track record of implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
  •   Leading highly-available and fault-tolerant enterprise and web-scale software deployments
  •  Large scale migration experience Data Center to Data Center and/or Data Center to Cloud
  •  Infrastructure automation through DevOps scripting (E.g. shell, Python, Ruby, Powershell)
  •  Configuration management using CloudFormation, Chef & Puppet
