Viome is an innovative biotech startup that applies AI and machine learning to biological data – e.g., microbiome, transcriptome and metabolome data – to provide direct-to-consumer personalized dietary and lifestyle recommendations for healthier living. We are a small, fast-growing, interdisciplinary team of passionate experts in biochemistry, microbiology, medicine, artificial intelligence, and machine learning with a shared mission to make illness optional.
Duration: 12 months, part-time or full-time, possible conversion to direct hire.
This is an opportunity to partner directly with our R&D science, customer experience and production teams. Our laboratory is filled with dedicated, smart, fun, engaged employees, high speed action, and the operations have an immediate and direct impact on our business. This role reports to our Director of Human Resources located in CA.
Our lab is located in the tranquil, charming, and growing small town of Los Alamos, NM. The views from our location are beautiful with vast natural landscapes, pine trees, wild lavender, mountain trails, and plateaus.
Responsibilities:
- Provide HR Business Partnership support for our customer experience, lab assistants, lab technologists, supply chain, facilities, R&D studies, clinical lab trials, and project management departments.
- Focus on leadership development, guide leaders to understand, manage and prevent employee relations matters, recruit, and onboard and off-board employees. Help our teams to enhance effective communication with our other locations in NY, CA, and WA, strengthen our one team vibe.
- Actions include: recruiting, retention, compensation analysis and planning, employee engagement, record maintenance (Namely), community relations, training management, on boarding and off boarding, benefits explanations, and HR administration.
We have 55 (and growing) employees located at this site; 50/50 exempt and non exempt, with day and night shifts.
Requirements:
- BS degree in HR or Business, or related field with HR certifications/education required.
- 3+ years as HR Business Partner or HR Manager.
- 3+ years recruiting, including cold calling, social media, and community and college events sourcing skills.
- Willingness, ability, and demonstrated experience in presenting and implementing new systems and programs to small and large employees audiences.
- Proficient software and system experience with compensation benchmarking tools, performance management tools, G-Suite, Excel, Zoom, Slack, and HRIS platforms (Google Hire).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to work independently with a continuous positive, helpful attitude a must.
- Experience with laboratory operations a plus.
