Financial Business Partner - Sales & Marketing

General Summary:
Vetsource provides Veterinarians the right tools to run a better business, deliver better care and personalize their client experience.  The Business Partner for the Sales & Marketing team will hold a high impact job in a dynamic and high growth environment. Supporting the Chief Commercial Officer, The Business Partner, Sales & Marketing will be responsible to providing actionable analytics, insights and strategic recommendations to the Sales and Marketing teams to drive improved business outcomes and ensure there is tight alignment between the Sales & Marketing and Finance teams.

Essential Duties:
  • Serve as trusted advisor and key Finance and Analytical support for the Chief Commercial Officer, the VP of Marketing, and the VP of Sales 
  • Ensure the business logic is reflected correctly in all reporting, analyses, and models
  • Prepare and maintain the Sales & Marketing budgets and forecast
  • Ensure appropriate performance metrics and dashboards are in place and are supported with analysis and business insights
  • Uncover insights that identify areas for performance improvement, model potential outcomes, and help to prioritize growth initiatives
  • Partner cross-functionally to identify opportunities and solve through analytics and action plans
  • Architect and build sizing and forecasting models that leverage performance and market data
  • Demonstrate strong intellectual curiosity to identify leading indicators and correlations to drive predictive modeling and improved analytics to drive business initiatives
  • Analyze data for breaks, inconsistencies, exceptions and communicate both internally and externally
  • Support and track strategic initiatives through analysis, reporting and data requests
  • Prepare internal management reports to assess performance
  • Develop insight in market trend and opportunities, customer needs and challenges, and competitive intelligence
  • Support Growth Planning and Operations team on financial impact analysis of incentive compensation programs
  • Support the Sales Key Accounts team in any ad hoc analysis of potential changes to or addition of account contracts and requests
  • Other duties to support the FP&A team

Supervisory Responsibilities:   None (but can evolve over time)

Qualifications:
  • Ability to navigate through complex issues, interpret and transform financial data into actionable recommendations 
  • Ability to consolidate large amounts of data into clear and concise insights to support Sales & Marketing leadership team decision making
  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications and data management; power user of MS Excel
  • Meticulous attention to detail, accuracy and strong organizational skills
  • Strong capacity to prioritize workload and to start and stop projects seamlessly, despite frequent interruptions
  • Ability to understand and perform complex business processes and strategies
  • Ability to perform at a high level with minimal instruction and work both individually and in a team environment 
  • Ability to make sound judgement decisions based on the impact to the organization
  • Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with various groups within the company as well as various external partners
  • Integrity - maintaining confidentiality is integral to the position to protect operations
  • Able to learn, understand, use, and master complex data models, systems, and tools (Ex: Oracle, Chartio, Business Objects, etc.) 

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 10 years of experience in a financial analyst or financial business partner role. 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with a high level of accuracy
  • Familiarity of veterinary pharmaceuticals a plus
  • Consulting experience a plus

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, or statistics a plus
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in animal health industry
  • Familiarity of eCommerce business (on line retail)
