About the Role
As our in-house IT expert, you will manage the technology practice for a multidisciplinary team across these main areas: infrastructure development, privacy and security compliance, asset management, budget management, help desk and systems administration. You will manage day-to-day technology requests, while also developing and creating the ongoing technology strategy for Very Great as it scales and grows. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, is process-orientated, a strong communicator and has a drive for continuous improvement.
The role is based in NYC.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 workstation support in a fast-paced start-up environment that runs predominantly on Mac systems.
- Develop and maintain all current IT infrastructure while planning for future company growth.
- Manage systems and data security while staying up-to-date on data privacy best practices and laws.
- Collaboratively work with Operations leadership to maintain, refresh and/or replace equipment.
- Identify, problem solve and implement technology solutions small and large.
- Troubleshoot network, connectivity, AV and VOIP equipment issues by partnering with IITS (our external network infrastructure consultants).
- Develop and manage relationships with outsourced vendors and negotiate costs and contracts as needed.
- Deploy onboarding software and training for in-house technology use.
- Lead the budgeting the purchasing process for all IT assets and maintain accurate inventory, tracking and cost management records.
About You
- 3+ years’ experience in an in-house IT position or equivalent.
- A Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science and/or 1-3 years of technical experience.
- Experience working for, or knowledge of, Mac work environments within the Apple Genius Bar or Mac focused IT service partner.
- Demonstrate excellent customer diplomacy, problem solving and communication skills (verbal & written).
- Thrive collaborating in a high paced, cross-functional team environment.
- Strong project management and exceptional time management skills.
- Experience managing network troubleshooting and internet provider communications.
- Ability to navigate, diffuse and instill confidence around technology challenges.
- Proficient in using support tools, outreach and research to speed up 1:1 troubleshooting.
- Expertise in Microsoft, G-Suite, Apple based applications and various machine operating systems.
- Adobe CC software troubleshooting software support a plus.
