You have an entrepreneurial mindset and you're excited to make a big impact by helping to grow the customer base of a fast paced digital company.  You've mastered the art of the cold call, and you're excellent at quickly building rapport while still being an active listener. You are eager to become a top performer who exceeds targets.  You are a hunter, and as you develop your knowledge and skills of the VerticalScope suite of products, and you're interested in progressing to a more senior sales role.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Be responsible for the first half of the sales cycle, with a strong focus on growing the top of the sales funnel by qualifying inbound business opportunities and generating new leads
  • Increase customer base by allocating time in your day dedicated solely to cold calling and outreach (including email)
  • Create dozens of new opportunities each week/month 
  • Create tasks and follow up with potential clients 
  • Document customer interactions in VerticalScope Salesforce Database
  • Respond to incoming inquiries
  • Expand personal knowledge through learning about subscription services
  • Learn and execute proven processes to generate new sales opportunities: ie making 50 calls/emails daily. 
  • Generate a healthy pipeline to ensure weekly closed revenue 
  • Use persuasive objections-handling techniques
  • B2B sales experience and Services sales experience a plus
  • Experience in the digital marketing industry an asset
  • Web and Social Media experience


  • Minimum 1+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in business development, lead generation, outbound calling or equivalent
  • Experience with Salesforce (or other CRMs) and sales automation tools
  • Strong, professional communication skills (responsiveness, email etiquette, follow-up, etc.)
  • Fantastic collaboration and team building skills
  • Comfortable working in a start-up environment
