Content Marketing Strategist

The Marketing Content Strategist is the champion of the client's target audience and customer base, a steward of their brand, and the connection point between Vennli’s content intelligence insights and the client’s content plans. The Marketing Content Strategist is responsible for creating recommended content strategies that enable Vennli’s clients to meet campaign KPI's and achieve their business objectives.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Create recommended content strategies, messaging and communication plans that support the development of customer communication campaigns 

  • Assist in the discovery process on large projects to accurately scope, plan, and present strategies that clearly communicate how the proposed plan will help the client meet their business goals

  • Coordinate between the client, the client’s agency partners, Vennli account management, and the Vennli research team to ensure that all proposed content aligns to a data-driven customer-centered strategy

  • Introduce a wide variety of  tools and techniques to the Vennli research team that complement Vennli’s survey research in order to gather additional data on the client customers’ choices including content consumption patterns

  • Translate research outputs into an actionable content plan that will meet the needs of the client’s customers at each stage of the buyer’s journey

  • Review and evaluate some of client’s final content across a variety of formats to ensure the content aligns with customer needs and with the client strategy

  • Ability to align content assets with stages in the buyer’s journey and recommend KPI's to those assets
  • Understanding of a broad set of marketing channels, both online and offline, the content needs for those channels and typical KPIs for each channel
  • Familiarity working with web design teams, creative teams, SEO teams, PPC teams, IT teams
  • Familiar with best practices for designing and deploying web content, from UX/UI, to user experience, CRO, and analytics integration
  • Familiar with content management systems
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
  • Intermediate to strong understanding of SEO principles
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn new tools for research. Example: BuzzSumo, Followerwonk, Google Trends. 



Education and Experience:
  • 3-7 years of experience in digital marketing, content marketing, and strategy consulting; 2-4 years of experience as an interactive content strategist/producer or directly related experience
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Demonstrated experience of key strategy engagement artifacts including research and discovery documents, strategy plans with tactical recommendations using a variety of media types, and reporting on outcomes
  • Experience in commissioning visual and multimedia content
