We are seeking an ultra-organized & experienced event planner to take the reigns on Vendasta’s very own annual Conquer Local conference!
The Director of Corporate Conference & Events will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a strategic plan for Conquer Local—currently going into its 4th year! The Director will collaborate and work closely with various members of the Executive, Corporate Marketing, and overall Vendasta team to facilitate a successful, annual spring conference for both our current and prospective partners.
The Director of Corporate Conference & Events will rely on their expertise in event planning to manage all aspects of Conquer Local from planning and budgeting to overall event management, including: site selection, hotel contract negotiations, vendor service agreements, entertainment, communications and scheduling, budget monitoring, and post-event reporting.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive successful execution of annual Conquer Local conference
- Proactively partner with leadership on the development and execution of event strategy and incorporation our corporate brand and objectives
- Define event goals—gather and track ROI, engagement analytics, and feedback to consistently assess and implement opportunities for improvement
- Prepare and manage conference budget, including tracking expenses and revenue sources, reconciling vendor invoices, and monitoring spending to work within guidelines
- Develop pre-event, at-event, and post-event marketing plans in conjunction with marketing, demand generation, and sales teams
- Lead creation of event communications and promotion for event program, in partnership with demand generation and sales development teams, to drive attendance
- Establish requirements for site selection, conduct research, and recommend meeting venues and cities, including on-site visits
- Organize facilities and details such as decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, location, invitee list, special guests, equipment, promotional material, etc.
- Partner with internal cross-functional teams to create the Conquer Local event agenda and content that meet engagement objectives.
- Drive project management of Conquer Local event plan and reconcile budgets in collaboration with the Marketing Operations Manager & Director of Corporate Marketing
- Oversee the execution of event logistics for Conquer Local in collaboration with the Marketing Operations Manager & Director of Corporate Marketing
- Complete post-meeting activities including, but not limited to event surveys, post-mortems, and retrospectives
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in marketing & event planning
- Demonstrated portfolio of previously managed events (weddings, meetings, parties, corporate events, etc.)
- Post-secondary education in Events, Marketing, Communications considered a strong asset
- Impeccable project management skills and ability to balance projects in a fast-paced environment, working with all levels of stakeholders to ensure needs are met
- Proven ability to stick to budget & guidelines, with demonstrated financial management skills and attention to detail
- Confident & articulate communication and delegation capabilities—both written and oral
- Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and pro-active in a fast-changing, autonomous environment
