    We’re a venture-funded IoT startup and we’re looking for a driven, creative, and results-oriented Director of Marketing to create and execute marketing programs for our potentially disruptive platform. You must be able to think and work strategically as well as tactically—from positioning our brand to writing copy. You must be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and who can deliver results in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. You must be able to work remotely and independently. In other words, you must be pretty great. We’re an experienced team of co-founders led by a serial entrepreneur with a successful track record of building venture-funded technology companies. This is a full-time, salaried position with equity that will report directly to the CEO. We’re looking for candidates who are currently based in Seattle.

    Your Role

    Your role will be to own marketing—from soup to nuts. You’ll report directly to the CEO.

    Your Responsibilities

    Your primary responsibility will be to drive viral adoption of our platform—get people to sign up and refer us to their friends and coworkers—by creating and executing marketing programs that increase the number of users on our platform, increase user engagement, and reduce churn.

    But that’s not all. You’ll also:

    - apply our brand framework to every external facet of our company in order to build brand awareness and communicate the benefits of our product;

    - understand our customer personas and determine the most effective ways to reach and engage with the people we want to talk to;

    - create an awesome social media presence that will make us the talk of the town;

    - create and manage our website content;

    - manage external marketing resources, including PR consultants & brand agencies;

    - use a data-driven methodology to assess the effectiveness of marketing programs;

    - support our sales team and business development initiatives.

    Your Qualifications

    You are the perfect candidate for this role if:

    - You have done everything described above, and done it successfully. If you’ve never been deeply involved in or responsible for driving consumer adoption for a platform business, you’re probably not the person we’re looking for.

    - You have at least five years of experience in a senior product marketing role.

    - You are incredibly data-driven. You understand the power of data and how to use it.

    - You have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related discipline. (If you also have a master’s degree or a PhD, we won’t hold it against you.)

    - You’ve contributed in a meaningful way to the success of a startup. (A startup in our view is a company with fewer than 50 employees. Uber is not a startup.)
