Ursa Space Systems, located in Ithaca, NY, is developing data products from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite imagery from a range of sources.
Tasks include developing image exploitation algorithms in MATLAB or similar environments.
Additional duties may include:
- Analyze satellite imagery from a wide range of providers, image formats, and sensor modalities
- Prototype, demonstrate, and implement image analysis algorithms and techniques, including machine learning approaches
This is a full-time co-op or internship opportunity (Summer 2018) for students working on a degree in a physical science with an extensive image analysis component. Intuition, creativity, and flexibility are the most important primary qualifications. Experience with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) imagery is a plus.
Candidates must be US Citizens and attend a university in New York state to qualify for this New York Space Grant position.
