Salary: £20,000-£25,000k (DoE)
We're on the look-out for an experienced WordPress web developer to join our forward-thinking and
award-winning agency based in Rugby, UK. We'd love to find someone who is looking to grow and has a hunger to learn and apply new technologies.
Our goal is to deliver high quality projects that both our clients and team can be proud of. Our environment is supportive and friendly and we use a range of progressive open source technologies to fulfil a wide range of creative client briefs. The ideal candidate will have a track record and portfolio of websites to back up their CV.
Our Environment:
We work in an open plan office and because we are a full-service agency, the development team get to collaborate with designers and marketers on a lot of creative projects. It also means that we get to know the whole team well (and often have lighthearted battles about who's turn it is on the playlist).
Team members generally regard each other as friends as well as coworkers and there’s usually no end to treats milling around. (too many some would argue…)
You should have experience with:
- HTML5
- CSS
- SASS
- jQuery
- JavaScript
- Basic PHP understanding
- Custom WordPress development
Nifty 'Nice to Haves' (but not essential):
- WordPress ACF (Advanced Custom Fields)
- WordPress CPT (Custom Post Types)
- Advanced PHP
- Photoshop / Illustrator
- Sketch / Figma
- API Experience e.g. Google Maps / YouTube etc
- JavaScript Frontend Framework e.g. Angular JS
And your day-to-day tasks will look a bit like this:
- Developing award-winning websites
- Work on support & maintenance contracts for our clients
- Work alongside our marketing department on website optimisation
Experience Required:
At least 2 years studio/agency experience building responsive websites with a portfolio of live site links to share.
Perks:
As a close-knit bunch, we love to do stuff together such as go for lunch every Friday lunchtime, celebrate absolutely nothing with after-work drinks, go to gigs, have picnics in the park playing rounders or cricket and the bosses even treat us all to a yearly company adventure, such as a party or trips abroad. We also have a 6-a-side weekly football league for those of you who love a kick-about!
There is also extensive training for the hospitality industry, encouragement of individuals training to grow for career development and regular 1-2-1 meetings to ensure you feel valued and listened to - we really do care for the people who work here!
Tell me more:
We like to start off with a brief friendly chat on the phone. If we get along, the next stage is a warm drink and a face to face meeting at our office. Finally a quick practical: creating a simple home page based on a graphical concept.
