Automation Controls Engineer. Our new Controls Engineer will work closely with other
members of the engineer team as well as the operations/installation crew, the company’s owner,

Universal Controls, LLC designs and installs custom automated environmental control systems
for CO 2 enrichment, full environmental control, irrigation and nutrient control, and automated

Junior Technician Job Description:
Support team for Universal Controls, LLC’s Install and fabrication manufacturing operations.
Works with the team in support for daily operations. Report to construction and engineering
teams.
Reporting to Office Manager and Controls Technician(s) in-house and Engineering team leads
while on installation.
Tool maintenance and tracking, responsible for documenting tools, parts, equipment and or job
install box. Responsible for inventory of different types of tools to enable the production
processes to be as efficient as possible.
Responsible for all aspects of in-house maintenance, maximize productivity and maintain the
highest levels of workmanship.
Ensure (Fabrication Shop) all stock items and equipment are organized in order to maximize
productivity and maintain the highest level of workmanship.
Ensure (Fabrication Yard) is clean, free of weeds and well organized.
Keep shop cleaned and organized. This includes the bathroom and the inventory room.
Perform a variety of tasks at all kinds of construction sites.
Required to work outside in all kinds
of weather or in buildings without heating or air conditioning. Some tasks are dangerous, with
regular constructions duties or chemicals.
Cleaning and preparing a job site, loading and delivering materials, and using a variety of tools
and machines such as blowtorches, forklifts, levels, lifts, power drills, grinders, saws, pressure
washers, and water spraying equipment. Set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other
temporary structures.
Support to all engineers and technicians on job site and in house
General cleaning of the building and keeping it maintained and in good condition
Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
Cleaning and stock restrooms.
Ensure doors are locked after hours.
Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
Perform minor repairs.
Notify supervisors or managers of major repairs.
Collect and dispose of trash and recycling.
Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
Keep cleaning supplies in stock.
Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Must also be able to
concentrate on their tasks. The ability to understand and communicate information is also
essential. Some tools and machines are computerized, requiring technical knowledge to use.
Computer skills, estimating skills, and the ability to communicate in both English and Spanish
can help advance in their profession.
An informal apprenticeship, consisting of on-the-job training and learning from more
experienced contractors, is mandatory.
