Lead Cloud Systems Engineer

Unify Project is actively recruiting top software engineering leadership from across the globe to form the foundation of our Cleveland, Ohio based platform development team. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the role of Lead Cloud Systems Engineer will be a key function within the organization, providing both strategic and hands-on leadership of the design, development, and rollout of our secure cloud-based data warehouse.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Architectural design and management of big data, machine learning, mobile APIs, and application infrastructure within the AWS cloud environment, including data storage and processing flow and design, application layers, middleware, networking, VPNs, backup and recovery, and other security components
  • Ownership and implementation of the HITRUST compliance certification process
  • Budgeting and cost center management of our production, development, and test environments
  • AWS account management
  • Management of the code deployment systems
  • Design, deployment, and management of our network / cloud monitoring system
  • Management of system operations help desk
 

Prerequisite Skills & Experience

  • A BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3 years hands-on experience with Amazon AWS technologies such as EC2 virtual environments, elastic Beanstalk, S3, Lambda, Redshift, RDS, PostgreSQL, CloudWatch, IAM, AWS Organizations, Directory Services, Mobile Hub, Athena, EMR, Kinesis, and Glue
  • 3 years of experience in network encryption and virtual private networks
  • Experience in compliance testing and certification
  • Experience in backup and remote site disaster recovery
  • Experience in budgeting and managing data center costs
  • Working knowledge of compiled and interpreted programming languages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical writing and presentations
