Social Media Assistant - Victoria

Hours: 15 hours per week
Annual Salary: $25 AUD per hour (as a self-employed contractor you will be responsible for your own tax)
Location: Work from home (must be based in Victoria) 
 
You’ll be joining a team of three passionate teachers working flexibly to manage, maintain and develop Twinkl’s thriving online communities in Australia. The majority of your time will be spent monitoring our Facebook groups (Twinkl Australia Teaching, Twinkl Australia Parents and Twinkl Australia Prac) and engaging with these communities to facilitate a culture of celebration and support – where teachers help other teachers by sharing ideas and tips for the classroom and beyond. Your weekly activity could include:
 
  • Responding to members of our Facebook groups, being the voice of Twinkl and offering advice and support where needed
  • Writing and sharing useful/engaging content ie. Blog posts, new Twinkl resources, CPD ideas
  • Running live video streams ie. Tips Tuesday
  • Developing Twinkl Australia’s Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest profiles
 
To be successful in this position you’ll need to be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about giving back to the education community and keen to share their experiences and expertise with others.  
 
This is a work from home, flexible position and hours can be agreed between you and your line manager to fit around your current commitments. This role is not suitable for full-time teachers, we ask that only part-time, supply or former teachers with recent experience apply.
 
Core Skills:
  • Detailed knowledge of the Australian Curriculum
  • Excellent understanding of Facebook
  • Understanding of the teaching community in Australia 
  • Excellent communication and ICT skills
  • A willingness to attend and exhibit at teaching events from time to time
 
Beneficial but not essential: 
  • Experience of blog writing

  • Is good fun to be with and has the ability to communicate well with others
  • Is organised, able to work to deadlines, and manages time effectively
  • Is able to communicate with colleagues and our external partners effectively, both written and verbally
  • Has a hard work ethic, is passionate, driven and loves what they do
