Content Writer - Inclusion (SEN)

Location: Work from home (UK)
Annual Salary: £10.50 per hour
Hours: 15 hours/week
Contract: 6 Months Fixed Term, subject to extension upon successful completion of probation.

You’ll be joining our passionate and dedicated Inclusion Team, working with a team of specialist teachers working to develop materials that span SEND, EAL, pastoral and SALT. Your particular focus will be on SEN resources, partnering with Content Editors, Graphic Designers and Illustrators to create beautiful, engaging resources for learning, planning, and support. 

You’ll meet with the product team regularly to discuss ideas, prioritise work and identify the needs of the SEN teaching community. You’ll then take this information and create exciting content based around the priorities that have been identified. On some occasions, you will work with the Social Media Marketing team, sharing ideas with customers as a specialist.

This role will give you many opportunities to share creative ideas, discuss different topics and trying new things for different projects. Some projects include:

  • Looking into developing ASD specific resources
  • Looking into how we differentiate and accommodate different needs 
  • Partnerships with the BDA (dyslexia association)

To be successful in this position you’ll need to be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about giving back to the education community and keen to share their experiences and expertise with others.  
 
This is a work from home, flexible position and hours can be agreed between you and your line manager to fit around your current commitments. However, this role does require you to have video meetings, minimum once a week between 11 am - 12.30 pm Monday to Friday. Since the contracted hours are 15 hours per week, this position is suitable for part-time/supply workers. Also, you will need to have your own device to work on and a reliable, high-speed internet connection.


Core Skills:
  • Strong knowledge about effective ways to work with children who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficient use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, as well as emailing and conferencing software
  • Experience working in mainstream schools

Beneficial but not essential:
  • Experience coordinating provision for children with EHC Plans
  • Involvement in delivering play therapy or anything similar
  • Recent experience of being a SEN/DCo

  • Is organised, able to work to deadlines, and manages time effectively
  • Is able to communicate with colleagues and our external partners effectively, both written and verbally
  • Has a hard work ethic, is passionate, driven and loves what they do

Qualifications & Experience:
  • NASENCO Qualification or working towards it. 
  • PGCE or Equivalent
  • At least 4 years teaching experience working with pupils who have special educational needs and disabilities in a mainstream school. 
  • A to C GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
