Progressive Turnout Project Seeks Political Intern (Winter/Spring)

Progressive Turnout Project (PTP) seeks politically astute and research savvy individuals for a part-time political internship at our downtown Chicago headquarters. Political interns will support efforts to engage with elected officials and candidates regarding PTP's targeted citizen engagement and voter mobilization efforts across the country. This will include maintaining candidate records, facilitating outreach, and helping produce and review political materials. Political interns will have the opportunity to attend political events and gain valuable insight into the field of progressive politics.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for progressive politics and an interest in creating change through political action ahead of the critical 2020 presidential election. Candidates of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Applications will be considered in the order that they are received.
This is a part-time position based in Chicago, Illinois. There are no formal education requirements for this position.
- Maintain elected official and candidate records
- Facilitate political outreach
- Assist with production and review of political materials
- Follow legislative and political trends to create reports for PTP's senior staff
- Other duties as needed and as time permits
- Passion for progressive politics
- Interest in creating change through political action
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required for Role):
- Familiarity with Google products including search, Gmail, Calendar, and Drive
- Political volunteer experience knocking doors, making phone calls, or sending text messages to voters
- Transportation stipend
Progressive Turnout Project is a grassroots-funded political action committee with a single mission: get Democrats to the polls. PTP designs, tests, and executes specialized voter-turnout programs targeting inconsistent Democratic voters in the most competitive districts across the country.
