DevOps Engineer

Truck IT, LLC ("Truck IT"), (Headquartered in Midtown - Atlanta @ the new and upscale We Work building), is focused on revolutionizing construction transportation for both customers (e.g., contractors, quarries) and haulers through our proprietary mobile and web applications. We’ve been recognized as one of BuiltWorlds "45 companies & technologies paving our future in IoT and connected jobsites"... coming in at #15 and the only company based in Atlanta. Our goal is to become the next $1 billion Tech Services company and we need to add a DevOps Engineer to our team move closer to that goal.

An ideal candidate is an individual who is either a strong developer interested in operations, or strong AWS Cloud engineer that gravitates toward software development.

ROLE

•        Build and operate CI/CD pipelines using drone and spinnaker 
•        Build and maintain observability and alerting across application and infrastructure 
•        Assist with the operation of a kubernetes cluster 
•        Automation of manual tasks using scripting and application development 
•        Identify bottlenecks in the development process and implement solutions 
•        Work with developers to optimize applications for performance and scale 
•        Administer AWS resources and provide guidance on utilization 
•        Ensure we are releasing code safely, securely and frequently 
•        Investigate and adopt new technologies/tools are needs arise

KEY COMPETENCIES

•        Working knowledge of AWS 
•        Strong Linux skills (3+ years experience) 
•        Continuous integration/continuous delivery principles 
•        Container technologies. Docker and kubernetes preferred. 
•        Security principles 
•        At least one programming language (python, ruby, golang), no need to be a superstar coder but you will need to at least be able to write maintainable code that interacts with AWS and other API’s 
•        Devops/agile principles 
•        Configuration management/infrastructure as code tooling (Terraform is preferred)
•        Monitoring and alerting solutions (Prometheus is preferred) 
•        Use of version control systems such as git
