Embedded Software Engineer

Title: Embedded Software Engineer                                                                             
Location: Westminster, CO                  
This position is an R&D role working on new Precision Indoor Navigation technology!  Trimble is transforming the way the world works by delivering products and services that connect the physical and digital worlds. From purpose built products to enterprise lifecycle solutions, Trimble software, hardware and services are transforming a broad range of industries such as agriculture, construction, geospatial and transportation and logistics. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Be part of a multi-disciplinary, international team that develops completely new measuring / positioning tools for the construction industry
  • Develop software in C and C++ for embedded systems based on requirements and existing software / hardware concepts  
  • Port existing prototype code into production grade code
  • Strongly interact with team members from adjacent engineering disciplines like electronics engineers and algorithm developers
  • Contribute to software architecture concepts and decisions
  • Participates in code reviews

Skills and Experiences Required
  • Extensive experience in C/C++ development for embedded systems
  • Knowledge of embedded Linux and/or RTOS on micro-controller hardware
  • Bare metal experience
  • Experience in interfacing with sensors, micro-controller peripherals and actuators
  • Solid experience in SW development tools for embedded systems, like version control, code reviews  and debugging with an oscilloscope
  • Additional knowledge/experience in one or more of the following fields is a plus:
    • Event-driven software architectures and state machines
    • Xilinx SoCs
    • TCP/IP networking and wireless communication protocols 

Other Requirements
  • Interacts with interdisciplinary and international team based in a variety of locations (USA, Europe)
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Software, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering and 3+ years of experience working in embedded software
  • Travel: Less than 15%
