Operations Manager

Overview

We have an open Operations Manager role for one of our Professional Services teams in Westminster, CO.  This role will be responsible for supporting the team's business strategy, financial management, contractual administration, process improvements, and marketing content.  


Responsibilities:  

Strategic -
  • Co-development of business plans for growth
  • Deep understanding of the business cost structure and drivers of profitability or loss
  • Ability to learn and understand business nuances for this group and the ability to be a partner to the Project Managers for driving best-in-class delivery

Business / Financial - 
  • Oversight and an in depth understanding of the  Department P&L
  • Accurate and timely forecasting of revenue and costs
  • Accurate and timely communication of billings for lump sum and T&M projects
  • Financial documentation to support revenue recognition
  • In depth understanding of resource costs along with definition and management of billable rates and margins
  • Solid understanding of estimating process and levers for profitability to ensure scalable business growth

Contractual - 
  • Management and maintenance of Statement of Work templates for different types of work
  • Review of standard Statement of Works prior to sending to client
  • In depth review of client written contracts and interface to legal for reviews / approvals
  • Management of contract execution / signatures
  • Support and involvement in contract disputes and client issues throughout the project

Operational Process - 
  • Development and maintenance of scalable processes for the organization to support the growth of a startup services business
  • Oversight, management and maintenance of the tools used to run the business — Salesforce, MavenLink and various spreadsheets
  • Develop, maintain and manage all process and business documentation and templates utilizing Google Products
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training for project managers on tools for the business
  • Documentation of processes and standards in partnership with the project managers
  • Management of software and hardware requirements — including licensing renewals and hardware purchasing

 Project Management and Leadership - 
  • Project level operational oversight in the areas of client management, procedural issues, financial and reporting issues, and workforce planning and analysis
  • Perform regular project reviews with project teams to ensure adherence to schedules, quality of work, administration, change orders and profitability
  • Promote positive customer relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all project stakeholders and continually instilling this philosophy in the project team with regard to quality, customer service and profitability
  • Proactive leadership demonstrating resourcefulness, self-starting work habits, and creativity in problem solving based on information and judgment
  • Develop processes to improve project performance, differentiate Trimble from our competitors and maximize project outcomes 


Qualifications / Education:

  • University degree in a related field such as Business Management, Communications, Product Management, Project Management, or Construction Management 
  • Previous experience in Professional Services or Construction Service Business
  • Self-starter ability to see areas for improvement combined with tenacity to develop processes and tools to drive improvement
  • Extensive project management experience, driving overall operations of a business area
  • Strong written and oral communications 
  • Strong document management skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
