Position Overview 
The Technical Trainer is the first on-site contact with the customer after the sale to conduct training for employees at the customer's location.  The technical training includes training shop personnel on the installation process, office personnel on the web based interface and assessing the customers operation for process improvement recommendations.  Some trainings include creating flow charts and return on investment items for presentation to the customer.  The Technical Trainer travels 75%, of the time and conducts WebEx trainings and follow up calls with the remaining time.  
  • Conduct Pre-trip calls to set agenda schedules and expectations 
  • Conduct installation training of mobile equipment and certify customer personnel 
  • Conduct training on Web based interface 
  • Help customers understand how to achieve ROI from PeopleNet system 
  • Assess customer operation and make process improvement recommendations 
  • Conduct WebEx internet conference trainings 
  • Complete follow up calls and post-trip paperwork 
  • Creates and maintains documentation and training material 
  • Other duties as necessary 
Required Skills: 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technology related field 
  • 1+ years of Training experience
  • Demonstrated problem solving and project management abilities 
  • Excellent internal/external communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Able to prioritize work in a fast paced environment 
  • Work well with a team and build relationships 
  • Ability to work well with transportation personnel in dispatch environment 
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to work with little supervision 
  • Ability to travel 75% (Primarily in the United States though some Canadian travel may be required) 
Preferred Skills: 
  • Experience working in transportation environment 
  • Experience in working in telematics related mobile communications field 
  • Experience in wireless technology
