Receives, stores, selects and packs material and products within establishments by performing the following duties and prepares products for shipment to customers and other using UPS, Federal Express and other shipping services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys order to packing station or shipping department.
Marks materials with identifying information.
Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
Uses computer to enter records.
Operates material handling equipment and machinery such such as pallet jacks and motorized forklift.
Performs duties in a safe manner utilizing safety equipment and observing all safety rules and regulations. Maintains clean and safe working environment.
Performs cycle count/physical inventory activities to check inventory levels compared to inventory records.
Components, parts, supplies, and product are retrieved, issued, or picked for shipment internally or to external customers accurately and in the correct quantities in accordance with instructions either verbally or system generated.
Demonstrates ability and willingness to function in a teamwork environment.
Actively participates in maintaining a safe and clean work area.
The ability to handle multiple tasks.
The individual must possess good telephone technique, excellent data entry skills and strong computer skills.
Two (2) years of college or a certificate specific to the job requirements from a technical school; or 12 months of work experience and 3 to 12 months of job specific experience.
Intermediate computer skills
