Technical Project Manager

Job Summary
Trimble Agriculture’s Enterprise Software Division is looking for a Technical/Agile Project Manager to work as part of a team on the coordinate and deliver configurations, enhancements, and integrations for our SaaS Agricultural Enterprise Customers. This is a full-time position in our Calgary, AB office reporting to the Enterprise Software Director.  The Technical Project Manager will work with customer success managers, technical leads and developers, and be accountable for the overall program/project delivery. On a day-to-day basis, the Technical Project Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering products that provide exceptional business value to our stakeholders. This role will be responsible for managing several concurrent high visibility projects using the project management method best fit to deliver in a fast-paced environment that may cross multiple business divisions and vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the focal point for requirements definition and project scope
  • Identify and tailor the best delivery methodology to fit the project
  • Communicate to all stakeholders so that all project participants are fully versed in all aspects of the project
  • Ensure that the objectives, approach and guiding principles of the program/project are being effectively communicated and followed
  • Ensure all required stakeholders actively participate in all phases of the program/project
  • Ensure the expectations of all business owners are clearly set and being met
  • Be part of a delivery team/community that collaborates to enhance and transform the way we deliver IT solutions.
  • Provide expertise on the overall business processes around which the program/project is focused, and provide needed business expertise in those areas
  • Identify, resolve or escalate issues to business owner, executive owner or steering committee (if applicable) as appropriate
  • Ensure that program/project risks are identified and mitigated
  • Develop, track, and present project metrics to define the benefits realized by projects
  • Monitor and track progress using Project plans, milestones and resources
  • Ordering, tracking, coordinating and communicating activities with vendors and staff

Skills & Experience Required
  • Post-secondary degree in business, information technology, management, or equivalent field of study
  • Project Management Certificate or actively working towards certificate or PMI Certification
  • Certified Scrum Master / Professional Scrum Master / Agile Practitioner designation would be an asset
  • Practical experience with any of the key disciplines required in agile delivery – such as software development or business (system) analysis
  • Agile Management Framework and well documented Agile techniques (User Stories, Burndown techniques, Acceptance Test Driven Development, Continuous testing, etc.)
  • 2+ years experience as a Scrum Master – where Scrum principles, practices and theory were diligently applied
  • Minimum of five years experience in project management
  • Strong knowledge of Jira and G Suite
