Position Overview:

Trimble MEP, a division of Trimble Navigation, the developer of industry leading construction software brands known as QuickPen and Accubid, is currently seeking a Product Support Technician in our Knoxville, TN location. Our Technical Support Group provides support for our broad base of construction management software and field layout solutions to our customers including, but not limited to: system setup, configuration, implementation, and general software usage. Typical customer communication is a mix of e-mail, telephone, and web-based support. This position requires a great deal of interaction with internal personnel (developers, quality assurance, and sales).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Construction industry experience specific to Piping, Electrical, or HVAC installation/estimating 2 - 3 years preferred but not required
  • 2+ years working in customer support or call center preferred but not required
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills a must
  • Analytical and intuitive (capable of following logic and then making the intuitive leap to a solution or root cause)
  • Ability to think in terms of abstract ideas
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral
  • Strong troubleshooting ability with general computer systems
  • Customer oriented with strong desire to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures
  • High interpersonal/social skills
  • Capable, preferably thrives in high pressure/time critical environments
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations
