Trader Interactive is looking for an experienced and creative Social Media Strategist to join our team.
As a social media expert, this person is responsible for planning, developing and implementing compelling and memorable content designed to increase and engage audiences in social channels for the entire Trader Interactive Portfolio. This role will also be responsible for supporting and improving the online presence of our corporate, B2B and consumer brands and enhance the performance of our overall digital marketing efforts to drive additional channel growth and increase direct traffic to our sites. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of emerging social platforms, be curious and always interested in learning new things, and will be able to translate those ideas into reality.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Define the social media strategy and execute on the process for developing and serving content via all social platforms
- Play an active role in developing comprehensive strategies that use social media marketing techniques to increase visibility, engagement and traffic, and suggest new ways to attract prospective customers, such as promotions and competitions
- Create and manage a monthly editorial calendar, by brand, consult with internal groups to develop social media campaigns
- Manage and optimize paid social budget
- Work in multidisciplinary team with copywriters, designers, Demand Generation, SEM, SEO and beyond
- Continue to test and recommend new applications or methodologies to enhance engagement and audience growth
- Stay up-to-date with changes in all social platforms, including new platforms, ensuring maximum effectiveness
- Be familiar with and use appropriate tonality, style, and frequency of content across each potential platform and will help shape an overall editorial calendar
- Serve as a subject matter expert on all aspects of social media
Requirements & Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience as a Social Media Strategist or similar role
- Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram and other social media best practices
- Practical knowledge of SEO and web traffic metrics
- Experience with doing audience and buyer persona research
- Solid understanding of social media KPIs
- Familiarity with web design
- Outstanding multitasking skills
- Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
- Team player
- Good organizational and time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to analyze business needs and propose solutions to solve business issues
- BS degree in Marketing or similar relevant field
This full-time position is based in our Norfolk, VA office and reports to the Marketing Director - Demand Generation.
