Turning Point USA is a 501(c)(3) grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to educating students about the importance of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and limited government. With a presence on over 1,000 college campuses in all fifty states, Turning Point USA is one of the largest youth organizations in the country. Our primary focus is to identify, educate, train, and empower student activists to stand up for their values on all high school and college campuses.
Job Description: An Urban Engagement Representative is responsible for working with, recruiting, and developing activists in underprivileged areas of their assigned territory. Some responsibilities may include, but not be limited to: voter registration, organizing campus activism initiatives, and attending events on behalf of the organization as a whole. Urban Engagement Representatives are also responsible for importing and organizing data, conducting outreach to prospective members and activists, giving oral presentations, representing the organization at events and conferences, developing new activism plans, and networking on behalf of the organization both on and off campuses. The ideal candidate works as a team to ensure the success of chapters, activists, and the Field Program overall.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Google Drive (Google Docs, Sheets)
- Willingness to fulfill all duties listed and any additional duties assigned
- Passion for conservative politics
- Flexibility and enthusiasm for dynamic work environment
- Positive attitude
- Strong work ethic and goal oriented
- Self starter and self motivated
- Punctual and very responsive
- Ethical and responsible behavior managing corporate expense accounts
“WOW!” SKILLS:
- Past/present involvement in conservative youth organizations
- Experience starting campus organizations and/or
- Leadership experience in conservative youth organizations
- Recruiting experience in urban communities
