Job description
Postdoctoral position available to study food allergy, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and/or cystic fibrosis. TPIRC is a rare disease institute equipped with a state-of-the art research facility where discovery is driven by the study of millions upon millions of data points.  With each case that we treat, we continue to grow our data sets at an exponential rate. This form of data collection and analysis opens the door for truly patient-driven research derived from real-world, clinical data. This collection of shared information offers the greatest hope to truly advance treatment protocols for some of the most complex conditions. 

Responsibilities
  • Characterize phenotypes and functions of cell populations from patients and murine sources.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to support the patient driven research in several different disease models.
  • Maintain experimental laboratory notebook and help with ordering/cataloging of reagents and supplies. 
  • Optimize immune cell isolation, characterization, activation, transduction and expansion.
  • Histological characterization of lung development. 

Requirements
  • PhD in biology, immunology or a related discipline.
  • Experience with Western blot analysis, immunological assays (ELISA), and multicolor flow cytometry analysis.
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture, cell transfection, viral production, transduction and stable cell line generation.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques such as plasmid DNA preparation, PCR/qPCR and molecular cloning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in this collaborative work environment.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal supervision.
