We are actively seeking a physician board certified or board eligible in pediatric pulmonology to join one of the most cutting edge academic practice opportunities on the west coast. The physician will have primarily clinical responsibilities working in the 6th largest children's hospital in the nation and its affiliated clinical centers. In addition, academic appointment and research opportunities are present if interested. The program operates under the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology, Allergy & Immunology at Miller Children's Hospital. Over 30 years under strong leadership, the division has grown to become the hallmark of the children's hospital. The division is only the 8th hospital nationally to achieve JCAHO Asthma Center of Excellence recognition. The division hosts a difficult asthma clinic, immune deficiency clinic and affiliations with an early peanut introduction clinic.
The Cystic Fibrosis Center at Miller Children's Hospital is one of the largest in the region and is accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Miller Children's & Women's is the only children's hospital in Southern California that shares a campus with an adult hospital Long Beach Medical Center that also is an accredited cystic fibrosis center allowing patients to transition to an adult doctor without ever having to leave the campus.
In addition, Miller Children's & Women's is one of only 82 accredited cystic fibrosis care centers that make up The Cystic Fibrosis Therapeutics Development Network, which is the largest cystic fibrosis clinical trials network in the world. We are 1 o f 5 centers in California that work collaboratively with specialists in cystic fibrosis clinical research.
