The Medical Receptionist (MR) reports to the Clinic Operations Manager. The MR is responsible for ensuring internal and external clients are provided with exceptional customer service. The MR job duties include but are not limited to:
- Promoting the integration of patients into our Tolerance Induction Program (TIP)
- Educating patient families on services provided by TPIRC/SCFAI
- Answering telephone promptly and in a polite and professional manner
- Scheduling/rescheduling patient appointments
- Inform caller of items to bring to appointment
- Answer questions and offer other information, as requested, to provide patient-focused service and a positive impression of the organization
- Direct calls to other departments as needed
- Use sound judgment in handling calls
- Understanding of when to escalate calls to physicians/practice manager/triage nurse
- Make reminder calls as requested
- Make calls to reschedule appointments when necessary
- Provide assistance with mailings and other projects as call volume permits
- Collecting and verifying patient information
- Data entry, correspondence, message taking
