As our Merchandising Operations Manager, you will be responsible for upholding company product margins, developing and implementing strategies for margin expansion, and managing a small team responsible for price comparisons and price setting. This is an amazing opportunity for someone who is passionate about numbers, process and spearheading growth. Position reports to Head of Merchandising.
Responsibilities:
- Evolve and enforce wholesale pricing and margin standards across product categories including apparel, technology and home goods
- Work directly with sales management and sales reps to drive margin improvement initiatives and educate on product category wholesale expectations
- Manage the Merchandising Operations team as they perform cost comparisons and set member prices while adhering to company margin targets
- Perform final checks on all event pricing and margins prior to launch
- Streamline workflow processes, eliminating inefficiencies and contributing to positive, realistic solutions
- Partner with Business Intelligence to develop, execute and report on pricing experiments
- Evaluate system integration with third party web crawling software
- Partner with departments including Finance, Transportation and Customer Support to understand and build strategies to offset areas of profit margin leakage including high shipping rates, damages, and other
- Scrupulously track product and profit margins, identifying and reporting on fluctuations, and working cross-functionally to offset any negative trends
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or 4-5 years relevant experience required
- 4+ years in a retail or ecommerce operations role
- 2+ years management experience
- Strong retail and mental math skills
- Advanced excel skills and formula knowledge ex. IF/AND, VLOOKUP, Data Validation, Index-Matching, Conditional Formatting etc
- Strong industry knowledge of product cost structures across categories including technology, home and fashion
- SQL experience preferred
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
