Overview
Tonal is looking for a marketing copywriter to join our Product Marketing team and help develop copy across our marketing assets—from social, to emails, to ads, to our blog. To be successful in this role you should be a strong writer and executor, creating copy that brings our product to life in clear, on-brand, and creatively exciting ways.
You should have experience and comfort writing about technical features as well as developing editorial copy that will help to build and position Tonal as a lifestyle fitness brand. As we develop what our brand looks and stands for, you will help drive the strategy as to how that manifests through our written word and verbal tone-of-voice.
The role is based in San Francisco, California and will report to the Director of Brand and Product Marketing.
What You Will Do
- Establish guidelines and standards for marketing copy based on our brand guidelines
- Write long- and short-form copy that communicates both product benefits and overall brand messages
- Help develop our blog content strategy together with our Product Marketing managers
- Collaborate closely with design, email, and social to ensure we are talking with one voice to our customers
- Interpret creative direction and adapt points from creative briefs into persuasive copy concepts
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Collaborate with Social, Design, Marketing, and Customer Care
Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of experience writing for marketing, social or other consumer-oriented written communications
- Previous work experience or personal interest in health and fitness
- Extremely creative with a high-volume written output
- Ability to edit existing copy, to take first drafts and make them sparkle
- Exceptional skill with the nuances of product-oriented writing
