This role is a general management role and will involve playing an active part in the overall management of the business unit, supporting the Managing Director - Asia Pacific, as well as day-to-day management of the finance function.
The business unit is growing rapidly across the region, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate their ability to work with a shared finance resource and demonstrate the flexibility to work in this type of entrepreneurial environment, helping to build the business from the ground up.
What you’ll be doing
- Management of forecasting and budgeting activities
- Prepare, review and analyze clients’ profitability
- Liaison with external auditor, tax agent and company secretarial
- Proficient in P&L reporting and analysis
- Review balance sheet and ensure the accounts are reconciled on a regular basis and all variances are explained and investigated
- Ensure all billings and recharges are accurate and all purchase orders/ invoices are received/ issued promptly
- Preparation of rate card, work with the Management team on client’s fee proposal
- Provide professional advice and information for the Management team to make business decision(s)
- Manage all financial matters related to clients, suppliers and staff
- Implementation and management of risk and controls environment to ensure statutory compliance and audit requirements
- Treasury and working capital management
- Capex management
- Financial systems implementation/management
- Commercial awareness, including the ability to interface with commercial team and contribute to ad-hoc projects
We we’d like to see
- A degree qualified CPA/ ACCA
- A good 10 years of proven track record in Finance, audit or controllership role
- Sound technical accounting knowledge and good appreciation of local/ APAC statutory accounting standards and tax law
- Prior experience in media industry would be an added advantage
- Fluent oral and written English essential
- Strong communication skills, as liaison with the management team and clients
- Prioritisation, time management and attention to detail
- Resilience and ability to work under pressure
- Start-up experience will be an advantage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Management of a Finance team, setting objectives and day to day management delivering value to internal stakeholders
- Proficient in Accounting software, Xero will be an added advantage
- Fluent in key Google System Platform - Sheet, Slide, Doc.
