Senior Data Analyst

We are currently looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for driving our reporting strategy for our biggest clients, and supporting our product team as we expand in the People Analytics space.

Data & Insights is a strategic focus at TINYpulse. The data and insights team of 5 works in conjunction with the TINYpulse CEO, David Niu, Senior Customer Success Managers and Dr. Brooks Holtom of Georgetown University, one of the top researchers in the domain of workforce development and retention, to interpret critical data points from our proprietary Assessments so that Fortune 500 clients can make informed decisions that drive organizational growth. Our job is to deliver accurate, actionable insights to our clients.  We believe it’s a million-dollar growth opportunity at TINYpulse.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze large data-sets and deliver trending and insights to external Customers and internal Customers (Customer Success, Product, and other teams). 
  • Explore customers’ results coming from overtime pulses and big assessments to come up with actionable insights and the most scalable, validated analysis approaches. 
  • Build a strategy for how we build and manage reports to model data for both internal usage and external usage  - then help execute that plan 
  • Work closely with the Product team to lead the development of tools and process around customer data requests
  • Drive forward ideas/requirements to the product team based on the understanding of customer requirements 
  • Conduct R&D to continuously uncover insights about customers’ data and product data. 
  • Conduct R&D and testing to build advanced reporting and other analysis/reporting features with the Product team. 

Required Experience:  
  • 3 - 7  years of overall work experience in related fields
  • Experience partnering with cross-disciplinary teams including Product, Customer Success, Engineer, Sales, Marketing
  • Must be fluent with Python and Jupyter Notebook
  • Must be fluent with SQL
  • Experience in using a reporting/BI tools 
  • BS/MS degree in technical discipline or equivalent a plus
  • Experience in data visualization and have a great sense of data storytelling
  • Mastery of Excel and Google Sheets
  • Programming background is a plus
  • Advanced data mining and database knowledge a plus
  • Experience in using various analytic techniques and tools on various data sources for predictive analysis targeting.

In general, we’re looking for someone with strong skills in 3 main areas: statistics, programming, and business sense
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills
  • Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and effectively deliver in a fast-paced, dynamic, agile environment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to seek out key insights across qualitative and quantitative data set, and then drive appropriate product decisions
  • A passion for solving tough problems involving data integration across multiple sources
  • Basic scripting ability and knack for making reporting dashboards that people really enjoy using due to simplicity and actionability 
  • Have a good sense of business requirements, understanding the balance between meeting business needs, and meeting the research needs. 
  • Ask a lot of questions, give honest feedback, and communicate proactively. 
  • Have high data integrity and data security at heart. Understand that their first and top priority responsibility is to deliver accurate data, whether internally or externally. 
  • SQL/query skillset 
  • Mastery of Excel 
  • Advanced data mining and database knowledge a plus
  • Willingness to explore, learn, and dive in people analytics or HR analytics

  • If you pass to the next round, we will send you a take-home exercise. This take-home exercise is an actual TINYpulse's real-life work. This will help both you and us to make sure we're the good fits for each other. 
  • If you pass to the next round, we will have a one-day interview with you. You will be talking to different teams. 
  • If you pass to this final round, you will have an interview with our COO and Head of Product.
