Overview:
Teknion is currently hiring a part-time (20 hours per week) Budget Administrator for our North York, ON head office. This is a 12 month contract until the new Requisition/Purchase Order application has been built.
The Information Technology Budget Administrator will play a support role within the Project Management Office/Budget Management Office, providing budget, purchasing, receiving, expense tracking and other assigned duties for the Information Technology Team. This position requires the ability to demonstrate the initiative to work independently, be highly responsible and organized, comfortable using existing and new technologies, and the capability of working in a fast-paced environment.
The role reports to the Director, Information Technology Project Management Office/Budget Management Office, whose office works closely with the SVP/CIO on matters regarding project management and divisional budget management.
Responsibilities:
- Track commitments and project actual expenses vs. plan for all budgets, report variances and provide analysis as requested.
- Process invoices and scheduled payments.
- Process Purchase Order and Capital Spend requests.
- Track computer related spend across all Teknion cost centres.
- Maintain and assure that workflows are efficient and effective. Continuously evaluate activities to minimize non-value processes and systems.
- Support departmental budget process based on the timelines established and provided. This includes meeting with the Information Technology Department Management Team to verify and confirm baseline and project spend, complete budget submission templates, variance reporting, and participate in the final management approval presentation.
- Continually evaluate and recommend improvements to the budget and expense tracking process for efficiencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned e.g. maintain departmental attendance/vacation records for submission to HR.
Requirements:
- University degree.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

- Proficiency with email/calendar, Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite
